- Develop, deploy, and maintain the NAV CANADA Quality Management System with focus on the supplier aspects
- Conduct audits on third party suppliers to monitor the level of compliance with regulations, and industry standards
- Prepare, manage and communicate to the involved parties the audit schedule – schedules may be routine, as planned within the program, or reactive in the event a risk or an Opportunity for Improvement is identified
- Produce audits reports and monitor closure of audit findings by assessing the effective implementation of proposed corrective actions
- Maintain and actively participate in updating of supplier related documentation ensuring these documents are reviewed and approved according to the required schedule
- Act as liaison between Safety and Quality and other business groups on all supplier quality assurance related matters
- Collecting data to allow for trend monitoring and identification of performance issues pertaining to the quality of service providers
- Assisting in any quality assignments and oversight activities, for service providers as assigned by the NAV CANADA’s Quality Management System
- Support the Manager, Compliance and Conformance Audits by providing ‘supplier audit monthly status reports’ as well as preparing presentations, notes and distributing meeting minutes of senior management reviews
- Wherever possible, identify opportunities for improvements, in terms of program/process efficiencies, metrics, quality goals and objectives, etc. and assist in the assessment of the quality system-related risks. Identify possible solutions in collaboration with the Manager, Compliance and Conformance Audits
- Manage, assess and maintain departmental standards for the Validation of Effectiveness of findings for the Manager, Compliance and Conformance Audits
- Post secondary diploma in a related field or a combination of education and experience
- Auditor accreditation/certification (e.g., ISO 9001, AS 9100, BSI Auditor, IOSA auditor, AMO inspector, or equivalent, etc.)
- Note: Acceptable evidence of training shall consist of a certificate of completion, confirming that the candidate has successfully completed all aspects of the course, including an examination or demonstration of proficiency; A certificate of attendance is not acceptable
- Minimum three (3) years experience in auditing or equivalent, preferably in aviation
- Experience in working with and coaching various external stakeholders internationally
- Experience in building a collaborative network and working relationships (internal and external)
- Experience in developing documentation such as audit checklists, audit reports, root cause analysis, corrective action plans, user guides, training materials, procedures, guidelines
- Knowledge of service provider selection and contract processes
- Knowledge of monitoring external service providers
- Knowledge and understanding of root cause analysis (RCA), corrective action plan (CAP)/CAP effectiveness. The work requires strong knowledge of the quality related concepts
- Knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite programs, One Note, and SharePoint (or SharePoint Online)
- Knowledge of project and program development/management techniques including planning, organizing and coordination
- Knowledge of good business practices and internal controls
- Knowledge of CARs (Canadian Aviation Regulations), SMS (Safety Management System), ISO 9001
- Ability to perform compliance, process, service and product quality audits
- Ability to coach and guide service providers on processes, standards and requirements
- Ability to gather, integrate and analyze relevant information to meet the requirements
- Ability to review documentation (such as manuals, processes, procedures), and to propose improvements
- Ability to coordinate and facilitate meetings, capturing key discussion points, decisions, and action items
- Ability to deliver presentations to large audiences (40+) at all levels of the organization and to concisely present audits status across multiple groups/units
- Excellent oral and written communication skills and ability to collaborate with the audit team
- Strong customer focus and relationship management skills.
- Excellent analytical skills required to assess, root causes and corrective actions.
- Effectively work in a fast-paced environment and handle multi-tasks simultaneously
- Project management
- Self-motivated, well-organized, and ability to work independently with minimal supervision
- This position is eligible for a flexible work arrangement
- A minimum of 40% travel required (including international travel)

Under the leadership of the Auditor, Quality Assurance & Compliance this role is accountable for coordinating and monitoring audits of our supplier business processes. The role of the Quality Audit Specialist is to support the NAV CANADA’s system, which is the foundation of a robust, repeatable, measurable, adaptable process network that ensures the integrity of the company’s Safety Management System. The Quality Audit Specialist will be working closely with vendors, approved suppliers and various stakeholders across the company during the supplier audits and assessments. Other responsibilities include audit documentation management, conducting follow-up audit activities, identifying risks or opportunities for improvements such as process efficiencies, metrics, KPIs, quality goals and objectives.Job Description
