      Overview

      The Quality Control Manager is accountable for ensuring that the plant follows and adheres to quality protocols and produces the highest quality product. This position will provide a unique opportunity to contributes to the success of PepsiCo Beverages Cranston Rhode Island Manufacturing facility. This individual must set quality performance standards and align the organization to achieve standards. The Quality Manager is responsible for leading Quality Technicians and developing a team of Quality Supervisors, as well as providing leadership in Food Safety and Sanitation. The Quality Control Manager interacts regularly with teams across the plant, communicating quality procedures, developing sustainable practices to maintain superior quality, and ensuring proper Food Safety and Sanitation guidelines are upheld. Direct Reports for this role: 2 Supervisors, 15 Quality Control Technicians. The Plant runs 24/5 with Weekend Shifts as needed.


      Responsibilities

      • Develop team to solve day-to-day operational issues and reach short- and long-term performance goals
      • Deliver effective change leadership to drive business changes while minimizing people impact
      • Demonstrates a working knowledge of production equipment (processing and packaging equipment) and its' related impact on overall quality
      • Lead food safety team and compliance audits, including FSSC 22000, AIB, QAS
      • Maintains Good Manufacturing Practices with regards to micro/sanitation, and pest control
      • Provides technical and process knowledge for water treatment/wastewater, product batching, product testing, package testing and supplier capability
      • Responsible for site Food Safety Plan and leads food safety audit preparation and execution
      • Understands and trains others in product attributes and Quality Control testing procedures
      • Responds to and proactively reduces consumer complaints
      • Tracks operational output measures (i.e. yield loss, product quality, net contents) anticipating and correcting trends which would compromise achievement of financial targets.
      • Utilizes sound judgment in customer and consumer issues and possible crisis management
      • Sets frontline performance standards providing coaching and feedback to build capability
      • Ensures compliance with all Health & Safety regulations
      • Communicate and collaborate cross-functionally with Production, Maintenance and Warehouse to assist team to solve operational issues
      • Builds people capability through effective employee relations, hiring, training, and communication for front-line hourly and salaried personnel
      • Motivates team members to achieve plan goals
      • Identify and lead efforts of product/process quality and cost management opportunities to achieve productivity gains
      • Ensure all internal and external sanitation is complete and properly meets quality standards

      Compensation & Benefits:

      • The expected compensation range for this position is between $85,200 - $142,650 based on a full-time schedule
      • Location, confirmed job-related skills and experience will be considered in setting actual starting salary
      • Bonus based on performance and eligibility; target payout is 12% of annual salary paid out annually
      • Paid time off subject to eligibility, including paid parental leave, vacation, sick, and bereavement

      Qualifications

      • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience required. Preferably in engineering, business, operations management, or similar field
      • Minimum of 2-3 years of Quality Control Experience
      • Minimum of 2-3 years of People Management Experience
      • Lean Six Sigma and Project Management Experience preferred.
      • Ability to work a flexible schedule including early mornings, evenings and/or weekends
      • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
      • Demonstrated front-line supervisory skills
      • Experience in consumer-packaged goods or a related industry a plus
      • Strong communication skills, as well as excellent interpersonal and influence management skills
      • Demonstrated planning and organization skills
