      Basic Job Functions:

      The Quality Control Supervisor is responsible for driving our quality strategy to achieve “world class” quality by involving leadership from all departments. This will be done using effective communication, both verbal and written, leading the quality meetings, and strengthening our builder partnerships. They will encourage the quality team to respond quickly to claims to minimize cost impacts for our customers and NIPG. They will be intimately involved in back charge negotiations and guide the quality team to find mutually agreeable solutions to the problems our customers are facing. They will be involved in the investigative process of solving problems by working with teammates and customers reviewing file information, shop drawings, and erection drawings as necessary. Additionally, the Quality Control Supervisor will be responsible for initiating the solution to the problem or issue being faced at the jobsite. This involvement may include pro-active site visits and involving several teammates from other departments. They will be expected to identify trends and recommend solutions. They will also be required to track metrics critical to the success of our quality program and share them monthly with the leadership team. Above all, the Quality Control Supervisor will ensure that all teammates on the quality team are working safely. Safety is the most important part of all jobs within Nucor; therefore, candidates must be able to demonstrate the ability to initiate, lead, and uphold safety policies, practices, procedures, and housekeeping standards at all times.

      Minimum Qualifications:

      • Minimum of 3 years of experience in Quality Control or Quality Assurance departments in a manufacturing environment.
      • High School Diploma or GED.
      • Proficiency in Microsoft Office programs.
      • Experience with instrument calibrations, record keeping and document control.
      • Experience in Quality Manual Design and Maintenance.
      • Experience with external agency periodic audits.
      • Ability to travel to jobsites on short notice.

      • Builds Customer Relationships – The ability to build and maintain strong customer relationships, both internal and external, that assist in “taking care” of their needs.
      • Problem Solving – The ability to creatively reduce quality costs, improve processes, manage the challenging aspects of issues on the panel line and problems in the field, and handle the pressures of tough deadlines while remaining calm.
      • Time Management – Has the ability to prioritize, delegate as needed, make tough decisions, set appropriate goals for the team, the ability to solve problems, think strategically, and manage a daily and weekly schedule.
      • Quality Control Analysis – Familiarity with quality control audits on an industrial level. Working knowledge of the various tools and instruments used in a manufacturing environment that ensures quality of the product being produced.
