      JOB PURPOSE

      The Quality Control Supervisor establishes direction and strategies for the Quality Control Technicians’ and adheres to the strategic vision for Palmetto State Armory’s Quality Programs and Initiatives. The Supervisor ensures that we are providing a quality product to our customers, implement changes, and be able to maintain accurate and consistent production.

      DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

      • Manages the QC Technicians and QC Leads, day to day activities to ensure that the outputs from the area are meeting the business needs and the necessary quality checks are being performed to provide a quality product to our customers.
      • Ensures that the performance reviews and performance conversations are occurring with all direct reports in a timely manner.
      • Handles employee conflicts and issues immediately. Ensures that all issues are documented and communicated to HR, as applicable.
      • Ensures that the payroll and hours worked are done in a timely manner and that overtime is monitored.
      • Manage workflow coming off production line to keep other departments running smoothly. This includes prioritizing work to ensure that first in first out is followed.
      • Assist in implementing and improving quality system: writing documents, assigning tasks, and training.
      • Manage daily paperwork and filing. Prepare and disseminate reports on the outputs from quality.
      • Collect and use data on quality issues to escalate items for corrective actions, as needed. Perform root cause analysis and help with corrective action creation and implementation.
      • Update quality check sheets to reflect the items that need to be checked to ensure a quality product is sent to end users.
      • Assist in the development, documentation, implementation, and training of processes related to quality.
      • Verify all documents and material are accurate.
      • Must comply with all safety rules and regulations
      • Ensure that all workstations are 5s/lean/oversee cleaning at the end of every shift.
      • Implement training and new processes to improve efficiency.
      • Ensure that Inspection materials are restocked at the end of shift.
      • All other duties, as assigned.

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Required:

      • High school diploma or equivalent
      • 3 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
      • Excellent Communication/Organizational Skills/Detail Oriented
      • Must be willing to learn, adapt, and be flexible.
      • Possess the ability to implement and manage change.
      • Strong problem solving/ conflict resolution skills.
      • Must have strong computer skills: Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
      • Be personally energetic, positive, and able to think laterally to follow through with reasoned decision making.
      • Able to maintain confidentiality as required.

      Preferred:

      • Associate of Science degree
      • 5 years of Quality experience in a manufacturing environment
      • 3 years of supervisory experience
      • ASQ certification(s)
      • Experience in a gun manufacturing setting or gunsmithing training

      WORKING CONDITIONS

      Work is performed in an operational warehouse environment. Specific job assignments may require day, evening, weekend or holiday hours. Overtime may be required .

      PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

      Team members are constantly standing, walking, carrying, pulling/pushing, bending, seeing, kneeling, stooping, reaching, hearing, as well as handing paperwork. Team members will be lifting objects weighing 50 lbs. or less regularly . Cleaning material and chemicals used regularly.

      Must be at least 18 years old.
