- Sample products at various stages of processing, including pH test and water activity.
- Examine finished products by sight, taste and weight to ensure conformance to company and legal standards.
- Perform routine checks for product packaging quality, including date codes, film seal and palletizing formation.
- Monitor metal detector and x-ray machines.
- Check outgoing shipments for quality and verify orders are correct.
- Calibrate equipment daily, including pH meter, refractometer, ATP meter, water activity meter, and table scales.
- Verify cleaning and sanitation of production equipment.
- Perform pre-operation inspections at start of production.
- Assist in managing hold and release of non-conforming product.
- Assist QA Manager in maintaining plant certification for SQF, organic, Kosher, peanut-free, gluten-free (GFCO standards), and non-GMO
- Assist production where required.
- Strong attention to detail, sense of urgency, and excellent verbal and written communication skills are required.
- Must adhere to and enforce all Good Manufacturing Practices and Safety Policies.
- Responsible for Food Safety and reporting any non-compliance issues to their immediate supervisor
- Wear Personal Protective Equipment when required.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Minimum High School
- Prior experience in a food manufacturing environment preferred
- Ability to use critical thinking to plan and problem-solve
- Experience with Oracle preferred
- Good verbal, written and multi-tasking skills, can do attitude
- The location for this role is in St. Davids, Ontario
- 100% of the work is performed in a production environment
- Must be available to work rotating shifts: days, afternoons, nights
- Must be available to work weekends
- Must be able to stand/walk for majority of the shift
- Strong attention to detail
- Ability to work independently with minimal supervision or with a team
- Competency in performing multiple tasks
- Ability to organize and prioritize
- Must have reliable transportation (location is off bus route)
