OVERVIEW The Pet platform is growing rapidly within General Mills, and it is critical that our plant FSQ programs evolve rapidly to meet this growth trajectory. This position will provide support for quality and food safety programs at the Blue Buffalo plant in Joplin, Mo, with a direct focus on the Dry platform. This position works alongside the operations team. Influencing skills, project management skills, technical food safety, and quality skills will be used at this position in a dynamic, complex manufacturing plant. KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES Ensure compliance with Corporate Food Safety Quality policies, SQF standards, and regulatory requirements across, multi-platform site. Partner with Operations and other Support functions to execute food safety and sanitation programs. Monitor and identify quality and food safety improvement opportunities, determine next actions, and influence the change. Other duties per business and function need. Provide risk assessment analysis and manage issues with non-conforming product to ensure proper control, minimize losses, and provide analysis to eliminate future occurrences. Use quality engineering principles, collect, analyze, and interpret in-process and analytical data to make quality evaluations, recommend actions for improvement. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS For Quality Engineer- Bachelor Degree in a relevant degree field For Quality Engineer II - Bachelors Degree in a relevant degree field and 2+ years of relevant quality manufacturing experience Understanding of product quality, sensory, and food safety Ability to work collaboratively with diverse, cross-functional teams and with external resources including vendors Ability to experiment, assess risks and make data-based recommendations and decisions Strong verbal and written communication skills Understanding of statistical process control and application for product quality Computer proficiency, including Excel, Word, Minitab and PowerPoint Flexibility to adapt work schedule with advance notice, this includes potential weekend on-call needs or coming to work earlier or later to cover other off shift needs PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS 4 years or more of relevant food quality experience This role cannot provide sponsorship to individuals who require sponsorship in order to work in the United States and General Mills will not support international relocations. Salary Range The salary range for this position is $67300.00 - $101200.00 / Annually.
