  A great opportunity has arisen within the Mass Affluent Platform for a Quality Engineer to work with an amazing team designing a new digitally led proposition for the Mass Affluent customer segment, helping them not only with their everyday needs, but with their life goals and future plans.
  
  As a Quality Engineer you’ll collaborate with Business Analysts, Product Owners, Architects and Engineering Leads to test features, fostering a test and learn approach. You will be accountable for ensuring all decisions are made within a sound risk framework and within Group standards and appetite while managing the full software development process within an agile environment.

  A major part of the Group strategy to grow in the mass affluent market and the new Mass Affluent team are focussed on designing a new digitally led proposition for this segment of customers.

We want to provide a seamless digital experience, with the right products and services at our customers’ fingertips, but our face-to-face, telephone and secure messaging remain a vital part of our service.

  Job Title: Quality Engineer

  Salary: £74,290 to £80,292 depending on experience

  Location(s): Leeds

  Hours: Full-time

  Working Pattern: Our work style is hybrid, which involves spending at least two days per week, or 40% of our time, at our Leeds office site

  What you’ll need

  You have a can-do attitude, interest in exploring technologies beyond your core skills, willing to learn, highly motivated and with a passion for working with people, working in a strong collaborative way to drive efforts to create, build, support and improve our applications. You also enjoy working closely with the product and other engineering teams with lots of exciting new challenges. You'll be a core contributor to ensure good quality and engineering practices are followed in accordance with engineering transformation strategy.

  We’re looking for core experience in the following areas:

  • Solid QE hands-on experience in automation and hands-on experience in shift left engineering using latest cutting-edge technology earlier in the life cycle and set code review best practices on BDD scripts in both desktop applications and mobile applications.
  • Must have a deep understanding of Java-script/ NodeJS / BDD Best Practices or alternatively strong hands-on with Java programming and capable of building the test framework from scratch.
  • Strong experience in API testing, Cypress, Appium, webdriverIO, gulp, cucumber, and API automation solutions such as SOAP UI, Apickli are desirable - alternative is to have similar experience in automation tools of mobile devices in other programming languages.
  • At least one mobile cloud tool testing experience is essential such as perfecto, headspin or saucelabs
  • Excellent understanding of programming principles such as engineering re-usable code, best practices such as accessibility automation, early performance proving and hands-on DevSecOps is essential.
  • Strong experience with reviewing colleague’s work and providing feedback to others and scale up quality engineering initiatives through industry accepted frameworks such as TMMi L5 and ISO/IEC 25000:2014 etc.
  • Advanced level in DevOps tooling for execution of automation tests such as Jenkins, GIT, Gerrit
  • Experience implementing a BDD frameworks in an agile environment DevOps space and having contributed to test automation scripting ‘hands-on’ with any programming language.
  • Excellent communication skills, able to clearly present ideas and provide direction to others.
  • Extensive experience in problem solving and issue resolution by following key strategy principles in judgement, influence and drive the teams towards delivery.

  And any experience of these would be really useful.

  • Experience coaching and mentoring teams to adopt the latest techniques.
