      About us:

      Quality Engineering is a transnational team providing quality assurance as part of Airbus Commercial Aircraft to develop world class designs and technologies for both our new aircraft programmes and the development of our existing products. We work closely alongside and within engineering teams to assure our products comply with all the regulatory requirements, maintain safety standards, and safeguard Airbus’s world leading reputation.

      An apprenticeship in Quality Engineering will give you the opportunity to work across all Airbus Commercial Aircraft programmes. You will gain a working knowledge of the development, production and in-service processes used to create passenger aircraft, freighters and private jets. Starting your career in Quality Engineering provides a wide breadth of experience that will give you a solid foundation for progression throughout the Airbus Group.

      What you will be doing:

      The first year of your apprenticeship will be spent at Weston College studying for your Aerospace Design degree (BEng). You will spend your time between college terms working within the quality engineering teams at the Airbus facility in Filton (Bristol). In subsequent years, you will progressively spend less time at college and more time engaged in projects and activities within the business to complete the work based learning element of the apprenticeship.


      Throughout your apprenticeship you will complete a number of placements within quality and other related functions. You will undertake various quality assurance activities such as advanced product quality planning, process quality management, root cause analysis, problem solving, big data analysis, design assurance and reporting.

      You will gain an excellent understanding of how quality engineering contributes to the successful design and delivery of modern commercial airliners. You will gain experience of working as part of a large multi-disciplinary transnational team engaged in the forefront of aerospace engineering. You will learn how to put into practice the latest quality methods and make use of cutting edge digitalisation tools.

      Requirements:

      In order to be eligible for this apprenticeship you must have a minimum:

      • 112+ combined UCAS points, including A-Level Grade C minimum in Mathematics and two other A-levels in science based subjects

      Or

      • BTEC L3 Extended Diploma in an Engineering Subject at minimum grade DMM

      And

      • Minimum GCSE Grade 5/C English, and Grade 5/C Maths

      • Or equivalent qualifications subject to validation

      To be successful you need to:

      Important Information:

      GRADES: If you are on predicted grades, your offer will be conditional to achieving the required grades before the apprenticeship start date.

      SECURITY CLEARANCE: Eligibility to gain UK SC Security Clearance OR You will be subject to a BPSS check (including a criminal record check).
