- Must also have a good understanding of all other manufacturing technologies currently being utilized in the manufacturing process including but not limited to:
- Extrusion lamination and coating
- Adhesive lamination
- Gravure coating and printing
- Following standard methods and techniques, inspects and tests product to ensure it meets customer and product specifications, and alert production when standards are not met
- Monitors product tracking methods (i.e. UPC, date stamps, etc.). Maintains customer samples.
- Puts questionable product on hold, organize re-work if necessary, and inspect returned product.
- Prepares routine reports – including gathering and summarizing data
- Tests and verifies raw materials as needed.
- Assists in training quality and production employees in quality assurance procedures and standards
- Follows and participates in plant safe housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment. Participates in the GMP
- Performs Capability and Gage R&R Studies monitoring process improvement efforts.
- Advises production personnel of quality problems & works together with Supervision to develop and implement corrective and preventive action plans.
- Previous quality assurance experience preferred.
- Ability to input and retrieve information on a computer.
- Basic understanding of equipment and processes.
- Good communication and interpersonal skills using tact and diplomacy.
- Strong attention to detail.
- Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos.
- Ability to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations to customers, clients, and other employees of the organization.
- Basic mathematical skills and understanding of units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals.
- Ability to apply common sense and problem solve.
- Frequently stand, walk, talk, and hear.
- Occasionally sit; use hands to finger, handle, or feel; reach with hands and arms; stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl, and smell.
- Frequently lift and/or move up to 10 pounds and occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
- Frequently moving mechanical parts.
- Occasionally exposed to wet and/or humid conditions; high, precarious places; fumes or airborne particles; outside weather conditions; and vibration.
- Noise level in the work environment is usually loud, and wearing hearing protection is required.
