Job Description

- Audits to ensure that finished goods conform to specified requirements
- Controls, tracks and implements quality measurement systems and equipment for raw material and finished goods inspections
- KOI quality and ASTM specification compliance reporting
- QM is the focal point for customer communication and interface relation to all product quality issues
- Coordinates and monitors product quality attributes among multiple vendors and supply channels
- Responsible for ensuring the facility is compliant with the Division Quality Manual
- Serves as a liaison between customer requirements and production specifications/ capabilities
- Leads and directs the Quality Control Department at the Roaring River facility
- Actively participates in Roaring River safety committee and subcommittees, as well as conducts plant safety audits.
- Participates in training programs to enhance environmental and safety performance.
- Performs assigned tasks as specified in the environmental procedures and work instructions
- Understands the significant environmental impacts of the job activities and the consequences of departing from specified work instructions
- Responsible for the overall quality output of the facility
- Ensures the department operates under approved expense budgets.
- Identifies largest losses and facilitates problem solutions
- 100% completion rate for assigned STOP audits in their department
- Creativity and initiative in attacking and solving problems.
- Must be able to effectively diagnose and solve problems.
- Must be able to prioritize multiple tasks quickly.
- Must be able to determine minute differences quickly.
- Bachelor of Science degree in mathematics, science, engineering or quality management
- Minimum of 5 to 8 years of applied professional experience in quality assurance
- ASQ Certificated as Engineer, Auditor, or Manager preferred
- Six Sigma Green or Black Belt certification is desired.
- Must be proficient in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)
- Must have excellent written/verbal skills as well as analytical and problem solving skills
- Responsible for observing all plant standard operating procedures and safety policies
- Responsible for teamwork communication with staff and management
- Must lead a safety committee and participate in safety activities
- Must work safely
- Position requires approximately 20% travel
The Quality Manager is responsible for the overall quality assurance function at the Roaring River, North Carolina facility. The Quality Manager provides direction and leadership for the quality assurance function and technical assistance to production areas.
