- The primary responsibilities of this role, Quality Project Engineer are to:
- Identify and set strategic goals/initiatives to ensure site alignment with the overall Quality Management System and the overall site strategy;
- Provide focused support to develop and maintain quality engineering methodologies that meet Customer, Regulatory, and Bayer requirements;
- Evaluate existing quality system and manufacturing processes and implement projects that challenge the status quo and will lead to improved productivity and efficiency;
- Be responsible for overarching Quality Assurance (QA) project support related to Site NPD engineering introductions;
- Mentor Quality teams responsible for daily support of Manufacturing operations;
- Effectively evaluate and communicate broad technical issues to internal and external stakeholders;
- Influence a culture that drives work efficiencies and high performance;
- Utilize statistical tools and methodologies to drive process improvements and eliminate defects;
- Lead change management, exception management and continuous improvement activities within areas of responsibility;
- Lead cost and quality improvement projects within areas of Responsibility;
- Maintain knowledge of product line and clinical applications to work activities;
- Lead and support Corrective and Preventative Actions (CAPAs) to ensure effective identification and elimination of root causes and then subsequent closure of all actions as per the plan;
- Represent Site Quality during Quality Issue Assessment and CAPA Review Counsel meetings;
- Lead / Support manufacturing validation activities (IQ, OQ, PQ, Test Method Validations);
- Identify, create, maintain data and publish digital quality trends. Identify and implement opportunities to improve quality system and manufacturing processes;
- Understands and applies knowledge of product line and clinical applications to work activities, and to support new products or processes;
- Understands relevant processes required to accomplish objectives.
- Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering or Related Field;
- Professional experience within a technical discipline;
- Demonstrated ability to develop and lead complicated, multi-phase Projects;
- Advanced knowledge in application of quality engineering and risk management tools such as statistics, Six Sigma, Failure Mode Effect Analysis (FMEA) and problem-solving methodologies;
- Direct experience within the medical device industry and Food and Drug Administration (FDA);
- Be able to work collaboratively in a manufacturing environment;
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills with ability to work well in high pressure environment;
- Ability to demonstrate technical writing skills;
- Experience in analyzing and identifying problems and directing technical resources.
- Master’s Degree;
- Seven to ten years of experience within a technical discipline
- Experience in digital tool implementation.
