Performs routine visual inspection of partially complete, complete, or packaged products per procedure, specification, print, catalog, and/or visual standard.
Performs routine dimensional inspection of product per procedure, specification or print using basic measuring equipment (caliper, micrometer, tape, height gage); Go and No-Go gauging (pin gage, ring gate, thread gage …) and functional test gauging (plate gages lag screw gages mating parts…)
Perform review of corresponding product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and GMP requirements.
Determines, through analysis, root cause of any deviation found in the inspection process.
Completes routine documentation of inspection results along with documentation of special studies when required.
Uses mainframe computer systems to perform advanced work-in-process and inventory transactions as well as SPC data collection manually or electronically.
Communicates any deviations using good documentation practices (GDP) and records deviation data in appropriate systems.
Performs all inspections and other related duties as defined by the supervisor.
Education:
Associate’s degree (A.A.) from two-year college or technical school in Mechanical or Industrial Engineering, or equivalent, or two years’ experience in a position involving inspecting parts to blueprints using measuring instruments (micrometer and calipers) and completion of courses or working knowledge of Algebra and Trigonometry, Blueprint Reading/Interpretation and GD&T is required. General Manufacturing Processes, Materials/Metals Technology, and Quality Control Instruments; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Experience:
2 years experience in a position involving inspecting parts to blueprints using measuring instruments (micrometer and calipers)

Performs review of corresponding product documentation to verify acceptability per specification and QSR requirements.
Completes routine documentation of inspection results along with documentation of special studies when required.
Uses mainframe computer systems to perform work-in-process and inventory transactions.
Communicates daily job status, problems, and trends primarily to Quality star point, team leader, and/or quality engineer.
Performs basic data collection (SPC) as required.
Trains operators to use basic measuring tools.
Maintains safety practices related to finishing. (wear chemical finishing safety clothing, eye protection, hearing protection, dust masks as required)
Functions as a team star point.
Performs in other areas as requested by Team Leader including but not limited to one or more of the following: packaging, finishing, material deployment, machining, and other quality areas.
Physical Demands: Ability to lift 25-30 lbs; ability to stand 3-4 hours at a time.

Primarily responsibilities are the inspection of purchased products raw materials or miscellaneous supplies by performing visual, basic dimensional and documentation inspection per specified procedures or instructions within the framework of the FDA Good Manufacturing Practices (GMPs) and ISO 13485 standards. Position will require the use of technical measurement equipment, measuring techniques and knowledge of advanced use of PC and mainframe computer systems and associated software. Algebra and Trigonometry, Blueprint Reading/Interpretation. May be cross trained and assigned to other Quality Control areas if job requirements dictate.
