The Quality Technician III provides technical support through detailed product inspection and collaboration with the engineering team. Primary responsibilities would span support across Spinal and Biologics therapy solutions within the Cranial and Spinal Technologies operating unit of the Neuroscience portfolio. The position will be based in Memphis, TN reporting to the Design Quality Engineering Manager

      Travel: Domestic and International, approximately around 15%

      A Day in the Life
      Responsibilities may include the following and other duties may be assigned.

      • Performs analyses, inspection on components/ subassemblies, packaging materials, and/or finished products from manufacturing to ensure quality standards and compliance to internal and regulatory requirements.
      • Leads development of inspection programs from blueprints, CAD/ operation sheets and performs inspections and analyses with advanced metrology equipment.
      • Prepares and monitors quality statistics and reports.
      • Leads test method validations and assists in the development of custom tooling, fixturing/ gaging.
      • Assist in the management of the advanced manufacturing technology center – control of jobs and parts through the lab along with monitoring of testing equipment.
      • Effectively work with teams across internal and external manufacturing facilities to satisfy requirements and collaborate for root cause investigations/ continuous improvement initiatives.
      • Conducts non-conformance tests of manufactured, packaged, or tested product.

      Must Have: Minimum Requirements

      • Minimum of 8 years of experience inspecting components or finished products within medical device or related field.
      • Proficient with Blueprint interpretation, Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing
      • Hands on experience with setup (programing) and utilizing of measurement equipment with related software tools for inspection, including but not limited to; CMMs, Vision systems, Smart Profile, Tomoscope, Keyence, Micrometers, Calipers, Optical comparators etc.
      • Experience with custom gage/fixture design and modeling
      • Must have complete and broad knowledge of operational systems, techniques and practices gained through extensive experience and/or education.


      Nice to Have (Preferred Qualification):

      • Vocational or technical diploma or certificate is highly preferred.
      • Ability to program and evaluate machine capabilities for inspections across complex components with tight tolerances.
      • Computer skills and knowledge of MS Office Suite
      • Familiarity with ISO, ASQ, and ANSI sampling plans
