As a result of an awarded major EPCM project in Namibia, Ausenco is seeking a motivated Quantity Surveyor to join on site project team on 4:2 roster.
This critical role will help enable the financial success of the project. Overseeing all aspects of cost management and quantity surveying activities throughout the project lifecycle you will help achieve the project objectives within budgetary constraints.
Your Responsibilities
· Manage and control project changes effectively, including budget preparation, cost estimation, cost forecasting, and variance analysis at a site level with the cost control team.
· Perform detailed quantity take-offs, measurement, and valuation of work done, ensuring accuracy and adherence to project specifications and contractual requirements.
· Receiving changes and workflow for change management team. Analyse data and raise flags and potential changes to Project Team.
· Identify, assess, and mitigate potential risks related to cost, contracts, and procurement activities, ensuring proactive risk management strategies are in place.
· Assist in the procurement process for Sub-Contractors by evaluating supplier bids, negotiating contracts, and managing supplier relationships to ensure competitive pricing and timely delivery of materials and services.
· Collaborate effectively with internal stakeholders, including project managers, engineers, and procurement teams, as well as external stakeholders such as clients, subcontractors, and suppliers.
· Prepare regular Change and Trend reports, cost analysis, Site Instructions for change management, highlighting key insights and recommendations for improvement.
· Ensure compliance with relevant and local regulations, industry standards, and company policies, maintaining a strong commitment to ethical conduct and integrity in all dealings.
About You
· Bachelor's degree in Quantity Surveying, Engineering, Construction Management, or related field.
· Professional certification (e.g., RICS, CIOB, AACE) preferred.8+ years of experience in scheduling / planning highly regarded
· Over 5 years experience in a similar role ideally in an EPCM setting in the mining sector
· Excellent written and verbal communication skills
· Strong attention to detail
