- The Quantum Research Fellow will work on the development of new initiatives at the forefront of quantum computing & quantum-inspired optimization for the Financial Services
- She/he will work on Nasdaq’s Quantum Initiative (NQI) and will collaborate with data science experts, technologists, and Nasdaq business leaders and quantum computing experts from our partner quantum companies.
- Fellows receive competitive salaries for the duration of the fellowship.
- Knowledge of quantum mechanics, quantum algorithms, quantum circuits, modeling, multivariate statistics, and machine learning. Familiarity or interest in quantum complexity and cryptography.
- Familiarity with the quantum hardware platforms fundamentals, applications, and providers (superconducting qubits, trapped ions, neutral atoms, photonics processors, quantum annealers).
- Familiarity with simulation and optimization techniques. Use of quantum computing cloud platforms (Amazon Braket, Azure Quantum).
- Previous graduate research experience in the theoretical and/or experimental areas of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Theory and/or Quantum Engineering.
- Proficiency with Python, and some knowledge of Qiskit, Q# and Cirq is recommended.
- Communication and negotiation skills to interact and establish (existing and potential) partnerships with leading quantum computing companies.
Nasdaq has a dynamic fellowship program, focused on exploring quantum computing applications in Financial Services and Technology (FinTech).
The program is geared to upcoming & recent graduate M.Sc. and Ph.D. students in Physics, Electrical Engineering, Applied Mathematics, and Computer Science with strong backgrounds in the fields of Quantum Computing, Quantum Information Theory and/or Quantum Engineering.
Nasdaq also welcomes current Ph.D. students and postdocs who would like to step out of their research for a short time to have an engaging workplace experience.
Participants receive competitive salaries for the duration of the program.
Duration: 6-12 months, full-time (20+ hours/week may be possible)
Location: Boston Office, in-person or hybrid.
