      WHAT YOU WILL DO :

      As a Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) Research Analyst, you’ll serve as a back-up to the program coordinator. The QCEW program is one of the major components of the Labor Market Information (LMI) program, providing policy makers, government planners, businesses and individuals with data on covered employment and wages by industry.

      In this role you will:

      • Assist the Program Coordinator of the Quarterly Census of Employment and Wages (QCEW) Program in leading the daily work and activities of a team of analysts by providing technical expertise and training; by mentoring and reviewing work performance; by setting priorities; and by determining appropriate milestones within program guidelines.
      • Make determinations for resolving questionable or inconsistent data and final decisions to ensure accuracy, validity, and consistency in the data.
      • Collaborate with other economists and analysts to ensure the timely production of employment estimates.
      • Troubleshoot software and consult with Information Systems staff to ensure program software is updated and functioning properly.
      • Assist with development of new procedures to expedite processing, improve data accuracy, and improve efficiency.

      WHAT WE ARE LOOKING FOR :

      Required Minimum Qualifications

      • A bachelor’s degree in economics, statistics, or any discipline that included six-quarter units in statistics or quantitative analysis methods and procedures, and one year of experience using computerized applications to independently gather, compile, and analyze economic data and prepare narrative or statistical reports.
      • An advanced degree in economics, statistics, or related field may substitute for the experience.
