R&D Engineer I

Job Description
- Req#: R-110923
- Under direct supervision, assist in conducting engineering experiments on new materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Participate in projects to optimize and improve existing materials, products, processes and/or procedures.
- Assist with project plan development, execution and reporting activities to support CoorsTek project management activities.
- Assist with documenting work instructions and procedures.
- Operate process and test equipment per existing procedures.
- Exercise hands-on responsibility for assigned processing and/or analytical equipment.
- Work collaboratively under the guidance of more senior engineers with the Operations and Commercial sectors of the company.
- Participate in the company’s safety culture and continuous improvement efforts.
- Undertake training to develop skills.
- Bachelor’s degree in Materials Science, or related Physical Science or Engineering, or equivalent relevant experience.
- Sound basic knowledge of mathematics, statistics and engineering science.
- Good interpersonal, written and verbal communication skills.
- Organized, detail-oriented person necessary.
- Team player.
- Must be able to work with a diverse variety of people from different cultures and backgrounds.
- Required to wear appropriate personal protective equipment in designated areas.
- Must be able to lift 50lb.

Target Hiring Range
Annual Salary: $78,000.00 - $103,000.00Actual compensation is commensurate with experience, skills and education.
