Job Description

- Development and optimization of microfluidic systems for novel laboratory biosensor equipment and consumables
- Implement and improve control sequences for microfluidic systems
- Perform conceptual calculations and simulations
- Conceive and realize feasibility studies
- Build, analyse and improve prototypes
- Define specifications
- Choosing manufacturing technologies, materials, and components
- 3D model construction and drafting of technical drawings
- Plan and conduct research and development projects
- Collaboration with third parties and suppliers
- Assist our operations team to implement manufacturing and test instructions
- Assist our service team to implement test and maintenance procedures
- Document results in line with company policies
- Master degree in a related engineering or scientific field (such as mechanical engineering, micro-engineering, systems engineering, biomedical engineering, physics)
- At least two years of experience in product development engineering
- Strong interest to develop into expert level in the field of microfluidics
- Experience in conceptual design, prototyping and experimentation
- Up to date knowledge of manufacturing processes and materials
- Experience in computer programming for process control or experimentation is an advantage
- Experience in project management and liaising with 3rd parties is an advantage
- CAD modeling experience is an advantage
- Experience in computational fluid dynamics is an advantage
- Fluent in written and spoken English.
- Excellent PC application skills
- Proven track record of finding innovative solutions to tough engineering challenges

About the role
In this role, you conceive, develop and realize products from the idea to series production in a growing team of highly qualified and innovative engineers and scientists. Our devices are of high technical complexity, including mechanics, optics, electronics, fluidics, software, and biochemistry components, and are sold in small quantities. Your role is critical in keeping our company aligned with one of our core values: to be courageously innovative! Your field of activity includes the development of microfluidic systems for laboratory devices used in the life science industry.
