      In Short

      The R&D Portfolio Analyst is responsible for supporting planning, transformation programs, and effectiveness initiatives in the R&D function. This includes coordinating value engineering activities, monitoring and reporting progress and acting as the single point of contact for the AkzoNobel Tracker and VE Champions. The role also involves product ownership for the time management system and requires communication and leadership with internal and external stakeholders.

      Key Responsibilities

      You will support Corporate and Global R&D activities related to process development, improvement, and implementation. They will partner with relevant teams and the PMO network to deliver strong stakeholder engagement. The Portfolio Analyst will also execute, report, and manage small- and medium-sized projects related to engagement and L&D. They will act as a champion for innovation-related processes and identify opportunities for process optimization. Leading small to medium-sized projects with limited risk and autonomously executing project activities is another key responsibility. The Portfolio Analyst will also contribute to the design and development of Global R&D team sites and provide ad-hoc support within the R&D organization.

      • Chair global R&D VE champions teams meetings and ensure engagement, planning, and delivery of the VE portfolio across all R&D teams.
      • Act as the single point of contact for all R&D users on the upkeep of the AkzoNobel Tracker, including monitoring global initiatives, ensuring completion of monthly/yearly requirements, compiling overviews, and responding to requests for data and assistance.
      • Serve as the product owner for Pepperflow, responsible for system upkeep, identifying areas for improvement, and implementing said improvements.
      • Work with the Operational Excellence data analyst to collect, consolidate, and analyze insights for R&D data reporting and performance tracking.
      • Support planning cycle consolidation, timelines, templates, and alignment across teams.

      What do you bring?

      • Master's Degree and 4 years of experience, or Bachelor’s Degree and 6 years of experience, preferably in Chemistry or a related area.
      • Experience in data-driven insights and communication, preferably in R&D.
      • Thorough knowledge of the Paints and Coatings business requirements and operations.
      • Excellent collaborative skills and the ability to contribute to widely distributed groups.
      • Fluent in English with strong communication skills (verbal, written, presentations).
