This Protective & Marine Technician II will aid in the completion of all Commercialization activities for the United States and Canada. Incumbent will perform a variety of technical research, development and tests on products and samples. Responsibilities may include analyzing basic formulas, performing calculations and preparing and testing a range of technologies and methods.
Job duties include contact with other employees and access confidential and proprietary information and/or other items of value, and such access may be supervised or unsupervised. The Company therefore has determined that a review of criminal history is necessary to protect the business and its operations and reputation and is necessary to protect the safety of the Company’s staff, employees, and business relationships.
Qualifications
BASIC QUALIFICATIONS
• Must be legally authorized to work in the country for which you are applying for employment (without now or in the future needing sponsorship for employment work visa and/or permanent residence status).
• High school diploma or equivalent of.
• Must be at least 18 years of age.
• Must be able, with or without reasonable accommodation, to determine the difference between colors so you can correctly tint paint to the colors desired by customers.
• Knowledge of basic math skills.
• Computer knowledge for basic inputting, communication and data analysis.
• Familiarity with scientific principles, products and/or processes required.
• 6 months of experience in a laboratory.PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS
• 1-4 years of experience in a laboratory
• Technical understanding and knowledge in industrial chemistries
Travel Requirements: 5% Domestic
This position is not eligible for sponsorship for work authorization now or in the future, including conversion to H-1B visa.
Upon completion of construction, the individual selected for this role will primarily work at the new Sherwin-Williams Global Technology Center in Brecksville, Ohio. Construction is expected to be complete in 2025. Until then, the role will be based at Warrensville Technology Center, located at 4440 Warrensville Center Road, Warrensville Hts, OH 44128.
Responsibilities

• Contribute to and design the execution of experiments, draw conclusions, and make recommendations.
• Comply with test methods according to set standards.
• Document all formulation processes.
• Function with sustained supervision and write simple reports, outlining procedures used and the results obtained.
• Complete proper forms and documents when necessary.
• Attend quality, safety, technical meetings and seminars as necessary.
• Comply with all safety and security regulations and maintain a clean work area.
• Communicate with internal as well as external customers with support.
• Manage work in accordance of timeline goals.
• Adhere to company safety and quality standards at all times.
• Organizes work to use time efficiently.
• Seeks assistance on priorities for scheduling work.
• Verbally communicates routine information to supervisor and others in platform.
• Is receptive and attentive to instructions.
• Recognizes routine requirements and selects proper, simple procedures for obtaining desired results to solve problems.
• Possesses basic ability to analyze data.
• Interpret and provide adjustments to improve color formulations
• Independently performs basic tasks as outlined by supervisor or others.
• Operates basic equipment.
• May assist with more complex operations or tasks.
• Uses computing tools to capture and record data.
