Job Description
- Req#: 79574BR
- Reviews and evaluates requisitions for Diagnostic imaging procedures, abstracting data from patient charts and determining appropriateness of procedure prescribed given diagnosis and clinical signs for routine examinations.
- Identify patients according to Hospital Policy with 2 identifiers.
- Selects appropriate equipment and technical factors to identify pathologic and normal anatomy.
- Assesses patients' and parents' physical and emotional status and ability to respond to instructions and develop a care plan for that patients' specific needs.
- Explain the examination and is able to answer questions from patient and parents regarding the exam and Radiation exposure, practices ALARA.
- Follows Departmental QC/Data Integrity Workflow.
- Responds to the uniqueness of the patient, creating a supportive environment for the patient and the family.
- Identifies and reports equipment malfunctions through the INeedit application.
- OperationsAssists in organizing and maintaining daily operations.
- Participates in departmental and hospital meetings.
- Completes all required documentation accurately and in a timely manner.
- Complies with ETU.
- Complies with HIPAA regulations.
- Practices the 6 core values of the Hospital; excellence, innovation, communication, respect, teamwork and accountability.
- Furthers professional education and maintains knowledge of current regulations and standards, policies and procedures.
- Maintains up-to-date licensure/certification/registration in departmental file.
- Performing radiology procedures in a busy pediatric Radiology department.
- Assuring quality results and communicating the relevance of the results to other health care professionals.
- An Associate’s degree in Radiologic Technology is required.
- The analytical skills to resolve complex problems requiring the use of scientific, mathematical, or technical principles and in‑depth, experienced‑based knowledge.
- MA Radiographer license and ARRT certification is required.
- The ability to communicate effectively both orally and in writing and provide empathy in difficult interpersonal situations.
