- Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment, acts as subject matter expert for Radiologic Technologist and is responsible for didactic and clinical education of Radiology students.

- Education

- Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training.

- Licensure/Certification
-
- Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy permit; American Heart Association BLS

- Experience
-
- Required: Two (2) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
- Preferred: Experience teaching Radiologic Technologist students, Radiologic Technologists, and other health care team members.

- Essential Responsibilities
- Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
- Correlates clinical education with didactic education.
- Successfully and efficiently develops and implements clinical education rotations for students in the School of Radiologic Technology.
- Insures completion of students’ evaluations and competency testing in an accurate and timely manner.
- Maintains student attendance records.
- Supervises students and recommends disciplinary measures when warranted.
- Counsels and provides academic and behavioral advisement to students.
- Assists to identify cost effective alternatives for staffing, equipment and supplies while maintaining high level quality of care.
- Acts as a resource and subject matter expert to staff and students
- Covers for Radiologic Technologist-Coordinators as needed
- Obtain all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs.
- Performs Radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
- Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.
- Efficient in use of all equipment reporting all deficiencies to immediate supervisor
- Stocks x-ray rooms between exams and at end of shift.
- Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.
- Takes on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.
- Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.
- Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
- Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.
- Produces radiographs and practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures.
- Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
- Performs other duties as assigned.
