  • Job Objective: A brief overview of the position.
    • • Performs a variety of radiology procedures utilizing all aspects of the equipment, acts as subject matter expert for Radiologic Technologist and is responsible for didactic and clinical education of Radiology students.

  • Qualifications
    • Education
      • • Required: Graduate of a Radiologic Technology Training Program approved by the American Medical Association or equivalent training.
    • Licensure/Certification
      • • Required: American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification; California Radiologic Technologist (CRT) license with fluoroscopy permit; American Heart Association BLS
    • Experience
      • • Required: Two (2) year of experience as a Radiologic Technologist
        • Preferred: Experience teaching Radiologic Technologist students, Radiologic Technologists, and other health care team members.
  • Essential Responsibilities
    • Demonstrates compliance with Code of Conduct and compliance policies, and takes action to resolve compliance questions or concerns and report suspected violations.
    • Correlates clinical education with didactic education.
    • Successfully and efficiently develops and implements clinical education rotations for students in the School of Radiologic Technology.
    • Insures completion of students’ evaluations and competency testing in an accurate and timely manner.
    • Maintains student attendance records.
    • Supervises students and recommends disciplinary measures when warranted.
    • Counsels and provides academic and behavioral advisement to students.
    • Assists to identify cost effective alternatives for staffing, equipment and supplies while maintaining high level quality of care.
    • Acts as a resource and subject matter expert to staff and students
    • Covers for Radiologic Technologist-Coordinators as needed
    • Obtain all pertinent medical information from patient to identify age specific needs.
    • Performs Radiographic procedures of high technical quality.
    • Utilizes proper radiation protection to protect patient from excessive radiation.
    • Efficient in use of all equipment reporting all deficiencies to immediate supervisor
    • Stocks x-ray rooms between exams and at end of shift.
    • Performs appropriate diagnostic procedures as ordered and assists Radiologist performing procedure.
    • Takes on additional procedures during periods of heavy workload.
    • Documents any changes in patient condition using appropriate forms.
    • Obtains appropriate medical history before patient examination and prepares patient for exam.
    • Performs receptionist and Radiology Assistant duties as needed.
    • Produces radiographs and practices isolation techniques per policy and procedures.
    • Follows ALARA guideline and uses Universal Precautions in all situations.
    • Performs other duties as assigned.
