Job Title: Rail Car Unloader

Job Description

As a Rail Car Unloader, you will be responsible for overseeing bulk truck and railcar loading operations. This role requires operating all necessary equipment, adhering to safety protocols, and ensuring timely loading schedules. You will also perform sanitation and preventative maintenance tasks.

Starting pay is $20.13 with opportunities to advance in to lead roles paying $22 per hour and higher.

Responsibilities

• Operate equipment required to load bulk trucks and railcars.
• Work safely on top of bulk trucks and railcars using appropriate fall protection.
• Follow a schedule to ensure orders are loaded by the correct departure time.
• Perform sanitation and some preventative maintenance.
• Work outside in all weather conditions.
• Direct other employees in proper safety, food safety, and sanitation procedures.
• Learn about and operate all equipment in the bulk house.

• Basic problem-solving skills.

• Ability to work outside in all weather conditions.
• Reliable transportation to and from work on all shifts and weekends.
• Ability to rotate shifts and provide job coverage, including weekends.
• Ability to stand and walk continuously for 8-12 hours.
• Ability to climb stairs and ladders.
• Ability to lift and carry 50 pounds/23 kilograms.

Additional Skills & Qualifications

• Experience with hand tools, assembly, mechanical assembly, and general labor.
• Experience with inventory management and working in a warehouse environment.

Work Environment

This position involves working in bulk truck and railcar loading operations, often requiring outdoor work in all weather conditions. You will be on a night shift from 6pm to 6:30am on a 4 on, 4 off rotation. The role requires following strict safety protocols and performing physically demanding tasks, including lifting, climbing, and standing for extended periods.
