What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
- Conduct applied, policy-oriented research on various social issues
- Present research findings to the RAND community through a formal briefing
- Collaborate effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team
- Participate in seminars and networking events with researchers
- Work under the guidance of one to two established RAND researchers
What is Required (Qualifications):
- Must be a full-time doctoral student in relevant fields such as public policy, public health, or related disciplines
- Completion of at least two years of graduate work toward a doctorate or professional degree
- Strong analytic skills and proficiency in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
- Ability to communicate clearly and effectively in English, both verbally and in writing
- Residency in the U.S. throughout the summer assignment is required
How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
- Interest and experience in applied, policy-oriented research questions
- Familiarity with RAND’s research portfolio and ongoing projects
- Experience working in multidisciplinary teams
- Strong commitment to the values of quality and objectivity
- Previous involvement in research presentations or briefings
