      What to Expect (Job Responsibilities):
      - Conduct research on domestic and international social policy issues within a 12-week period
      - Present research findings to the RAND community through a 15-30 minute briefing
      - Collaborate effectively as a member of a multidisciplinary team
      - Engage in networking and attend seminars from various researchers
      - Work under the guidance of established RAND researchers for mentorship

      What is Required (Qualifications):
      - Must be a full-time doctoral student in sociology, demography, or a related field
      - Completion of at least two years of graduate work towards a doctorate or professional degree
      - Keen interest in applied, policy-oriented research questions
      - Excellent analytic skills and proven ability in quantitative and/or qualitative research methods
      - Legal right to work in the United States upon hire

      How to Stand Out (Preferred Qualifications):
      - Familiarity with methodological areas such as network analysis and multi-level modeling
      - Experience with software such as STATA, SAS, SPSS, HLM, Mplus, ATLAS-ti, or NVivo
      - Strong commitment to quality and objectivity in research
