We have an Occupational Therapist opportunity within the Taunton Rapid Response team base from Harrison House.
We are looking for dynamic and inspiring Occupational Therapist to join the Rapid Response Taunton team, part of the wider Intermediate Care service for Somerset.
You will gain an in depth understanding of community working and supporting people within their own homes.
Successful candidates will be directly supported by a Senior therapy staff and Clinical lead therapists.
The Rapid Response team is a short team service who support people within their own homes to prevent unnecessary admissions to hospital, as well as taking patients out of A&E when they do not need to be admitted, by providing nursing, therapy and support at home for that patient. Rapid Response has experienced a great deal of development and growth in the last few years and is also involved in supporting a number of the urgent community response pillars including picking up non injury fallers to prevent them having to wait for an ambulance, and working closely with the Hospital At Home team.
Main duties of the job
You will be expected to carry out specific therapy assessments which will include moving and handling, treatment planning, assessing risk, promoting and enabling independent functioning. You will be expected to use equipment to pick patients who have fallen up off the floor. You will be committed to a person-centered approach to your work, have an ability to prioritise and work flexibly.
