Job Description
- Req#: 477381
- Screen films, rating each one according to the guidelines set forth in the "Classification and Rating Rules" and other rules or guidelines provided by the CARA Chairman.
- Discuss with fellow raters to formulate the film's tentative rating and descriptor until it is accepted officially by the film company that submitted it.
- Prepare a written ballot for each film outlining the Rater’s reasons for the rating decision.
- Ability to solve practical problems and carry out responsibilities under minimal supervision.
- Ability to organize workload for effective implementation.
- Ability to write sample correspondence and present information in one-on-one and small group situations.
- Ability to function as an effective team member.
- Ability to adapt as the external environment and organization evolves.
- Excellent analytical, interpersonal, facilitative and consulting skills.
- Demonstrated ability to handle confidential information.
- Must be a parent of a child between the ages of 5 and 15 years old.
- Must not have current affiliation with the motion picture industry.
Under the direction of the CARA Chairman, the Rater is responsible for rating film content and "pieces" of previously-viewed movies according to given guidelines, as well as, work with fellow raters and explain each rating given through a written ballot.
