- Analyzing the credit quality and management of fixed income portfolios.
- As part of the fund rating process, individual must identify industry risk factors and manage discussions with fund management
- Conduct ongoing monitoring of rated funds and provide statistical/research support for special projects that arise during the year.
- Maintain the integrity of internal systems that support the ratings process, contribute to the development of ratings criteria, initiate outreach activities with investors and intermediaries and provide guidance and support to analysts as directed.
- Develop industry knowledge, respond to queries from investors, media and investment managers, prepare presentations for Ratings Committees and publish ratings commentaries.
- Develop research, analytical and reporting skills and familiarity with fund rating methodology and standards essential for active participation in S&P Global Ratings fund rating activities.
- Informs issuer or representative of Rating Committee's decisions and to the extent possible, commensurate with experience, explains rating rationale.
- Participates in Rating Committee meetings prior to voting, as assigned.
- Contacts fund managers, or their representatives, for necessary or additional information.
- Participate in meetings and on-site visits with fund managers and their representatives, as assigned.
- In accordance with departmental policies, reviews prior fund ratings at prescribed intervals and recommends appropriate action to Rating Committee.
- Prepares press releases and contributes to articles for S&P Global Ratings publication.
- MBA or CFA (Chartered Financial Analyst Certification) advantageous
- 2+ years’ experience in the Financial Services industry, mutual fund/investment management experience is preferred
- Experience in Fixed-Income Analytics
- The ability to analyze original, non-routine analytical/business problems in a timely and insightful manner.
- Strong interpersonal and customer relationship skills
- Willingness to travel

09RATING ANALYST – FUND RATINGS
We currently have an exciting opportunity for an Rating Analyst to join our Fund Ratings Team within the Financial Services Group. Responsibilities include analyzing fixed income mutual funds, separate accounts, offshore funds and investment pools; conduct research on existing fund ratings criteria and assist in the development of new criteria and publish results. Also assist in the publication of mutual fund industry commentary and maintain supportive client services.

Compensation/Benefits Information (This section is only applicable to US candidates) :
S&P Global states that the anticipated base salary range for this position is $58,300 to $115,850. Final base salary for this role will be based on the individual’s geographic location, as well as experience level, skill set, training, licenses and certifications.
In addition to base compensation, this role is eligible for an annual incentive plan.
