      Job Description Summary

      SUMMARY:

      Tests and inspects products at raw receiving and compiles and evaluates statistical data to determine quality of raw product. Records and informs the appropriate personnel of the product quality being received as required.

      ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following (other duties may be assigned).

      Maintains safe work practices at all times and participates in safety programs.

      This position requires the ability to perform a set of functions established for each of several work stations on a routine basis . Responsibilities include collecting data and recording accurately on Q.A. forms (data input into computer) and reporting any irregularities of product exceeding established limits to the appropriate personnel in accord ance with instructions of the Team Leader Quality

      Uses approved procedures to sample and evaluate product for the following attributes : dirt tare; size and shape; specific gravity; color; bruise; internal and external defects . Performs weekend cleanup as required .

      Records test data, applying statistical quality control procedures.

      Enters data into computer for analysis.

      Tools and equipment used are as follows:

      Timer H ydrometer C omputer

      Raw product knife Manual strip cutter High pressure water hose

      S ample baskets/bags

      This position is not required on graveyard . The person holding this position on 4 th shift will be required to work another position on the nights they are scheduled for graveyard.

      QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS:

      EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

      High school diploma or general education degree (GED); or one to three months related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience.

      LANGUAGE SKILLS:

      Ability to read and comprehend simple instructions, short correspondence, and memos in English. Ability to write accurate information on simple forms in English. Ability to effectively present or listen to information in one on one and small group situations with all other employees of the organization in English

      MATHEMATICAL SKILLS:

      Ability to add, subtract, multiply, and divide in all units of measure, using whole numbers, common fractions, and decimals. Ability to compute rate, ratio, and percent and to draw and interpret bar graphs.

      REASONING ABILITY:

      Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists . Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.

      OTHER SKILLS and ABILITIES:

      Must be able to operate all equipment and tools used in the lab.

      Must have knowledge of and follow plant safety, personal hygiene, and GMP rules.

      Must be able to complete forms in an accurate and legible manner.

      Must have the ability to stand for extended periods of time.

      Must be able to work any or all days of the week in accordance with production and harvest schedules.

      Must be able to lift up to 60 pounds in a safe manner.

      Must be able to work with or around lab chemicals and industrial cleaning chemicals used in the plant.

      Must be able to demonstrate proper use of a telephone.

      While collecting samples you must be able to walk on wet, slippery floors, ascend/descend stairs, and have a high tolerance for noise, vibration, dust, and extreme hot and cold temperatures.

      QUALIFICATION PERIOD:

      Not to exceed 15 shifts worked.

This compensation is specific to this position and takes into account a number of variables. Actual compensation may be higher or lower in the range based on various factors, including, but not limited to a candidate’s work location, job duties, experience and expertise. A reasonable hourly estimate of the range for this role based on the variables previously mentioned is: $23.74
