Medical Billing – Revenue Cycle – Payor Verification – Government Payors

Location: Remote or On-Site

Hourly Pay: $16

This position is bonus eligible

Training Work Schedule: Training M-F 8am-5pm CST

Permanent Work Schedule: Either 4, 10-hour shifts or 5, 8-hour shifts/week – Minimum of one weekend shift (up to two) with remainder of working hours on weekdays

JOB SUMMARY

The Medical Billing - Revenue Cycle - Payor Verification - Government Payors, will work with primary, secondary, and tertiary payors to verify benefits, deductibles, and out-of-pocket amounts.

ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

• Utilize payor portals and phone for benefit verification.
• Analyze work processes to maximize efficiency.
• Work as team to meet team and departmental goals.
• Identify problems, gather data, establish facts, draw valid conclusions, and prepare reports.
• Respond to inquiries and complaints in a positive and productive manner.
• Calculate numbers, correct entries, and post to records.

QUALIFICATIONS

Required Experience:

• Prior payor verification and/or experience communicating with payors directly
• Ability to work independently and as an active member of a team
• Knowledge and experience of computers and related technology at an intermediate level
• Minimum of one (1) year experience in a Healthcare/Revenue Cycle medical billing environment
• Must possess professional and empathetic written and verbal communication skills

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of one (1) year working in a call-center environment
• Minimum of one (1) year working in a customer service position
• Above average knowledge of Government billing guidelines

Preferred Education:

• High school diploma
• GED
• Or significant, relevant work experience
