- Provides leadership to and manages subordinate employees who oversee the delivery of faith services, academic/vocational programs, counseling, treatment, and reentry services, with an emphasis on reducing tendencies of reoffending.
- Evaluates current systems, services, and programs to ensure the integrity of models, proper utilization of program capacity, and effectiveness of programs and services.
- Identifies, develops, and implements modern, needs-based practices, programs, and services that are responsive to the incarcerated population and create a well-rounded system promoting rehabilitation and continuity of care.
- Directs the preparation/review of policies and procedures and ensures compliance.
- Provides administrative leadership ensuring completion of necessary reports such as strategic plans, statistical and annual reporting, and legislative requests.
- Collaborates with County-wide justice agencies to ensure alignment and coordination with exiting reentry programs and services and develop strategies to implement restorative justice concepts.
- Establishes goals, objectives, and standards for the Department that reflect the mission, vision, and priorities.
- Completes special projects as assigned by the Director.
Lancaster County in Lincoln, Nebraska is currently seeking a qualified candidate to fill an executive leadership role as Re-Entry and Rehabilitation Administrator for the Department of Corrections. This professional will focus on re-entry programming and release planning. Benefits:
High School graduate with college level course work in public administration, criminal justice, sociology, or related field plus 2 - 4 years' experience in correctional institution management in a responsible supervisory capacity; or any equivalent combination of training and experience that provides the desirable knowledge, abilities and skills.
Necessary Special Requirements:
Must be a citizen of the United States and be at least nineteen (19) years of age or older. At the time of employment, must be fingerprinted and the fingerprint cards promptly submitted to the Nebraska State Patrol for a criminal history search; must be free of any convictions of crimes punishable by imprisonment in a state or federal penitentiary for a term of one (1) year or more, from which a pardon has not been received. Must submit to and successfully pass a substance abuse test. Must be examined by a licensed physician and meet the medical requirements of the Corrections Department. Possession of a valid driver's license when operating a vehicle is required in the performance of assigned duties.About the company
