Job Description
- Req#: 4992414
- Responsible for the processing intake inmates on a daily basis.
- Shakedown inmates entering/exiting buildings.
- Count all inmates in the Reception and Evaluation / Annex buildings during count times.
- Supervise inmate clean-up detail. Conduct and monitor the Pill Line.
- Assist with inmate visitation.
- Escort inmates to several locations within the confines of the Institution.
- Must have 12 months' of experience in corrections, security, military or police work.
- Must be a U.S. Citizen
- 18 years of age or older
- High school graduate or GED
- Must possess a valid driver’s license
- Tattoos: Must not be offensive and/or gang related or visibly located on the face or head. Tattoos on the neck will be evaluated on a case-by-case basis.
- Cannot have been convicted of a crime with a maximum allowable sentence of one year or more, or a fine of $1,000.
- Must pass a physical examination administered by SCDC.
- Must successfully complete the Correctional Officer Basic Certification Course within first (6) six months of placement into the position.
- Must be certified.
