      Position Type: Regular, Full-Time

      Pay Range: $13.56 - $16.27

      About this opportunity:

      Under the general direction of the Shelter Director, the Receptionist/Housing Monitor performs a wide variety of administrative tasks such as answering phones, filing, greeting guest, inputting computer data, and maintaining logbooks. He/she also acts in the capacity of a Housing Monitor to ensure the safety, security and well-being of the shelter residents; monitor client's day to day activities including scheduling, inventorying passes, taking of prescribed medication, and resident's general whereabouts. Collects male and female urinalysis. Document urinalysis and breathalyzers test results. Performs a variety of housekeeping duties including sweeping, moping, vacuuming, dusting, and cleaning of bathrooms to ensure the neatness and cleanliness of the shelter on a daily basis.

      Key responsibilities:

      • Answers the telephone and transfers calls to the appropriate destination; responds to callers questions and provides accurate information.
      • Records accurate and complete messages; ensures the timely and accurate distribution of messages through telephone and/or E-mail.
      • Receives, responds to, and assists people requesting social service assistance; assists in registering clients; maintains supply of maps and phone numbers for social services; locates appropriate personnel to assist visitors.
      • Prepares and files client records in a timely manner ensuring all information is accurate and up-to-date; obtains signatures of clients as needed; reviews and tracks all client records in order to determine if client is active or inactive; maintains confidentiality of client information.

      What we are looking for in you:

      • High school diploma or G.E.D.; AND
      • Two years’ experience performing receptionist, security, and/or social service work preferred; OR
      • Any equivalent combination of training and experience providing the required knowledge, skills, and abilities.

      Physical Requirements and Working Conditions:

      Ability to deal with people maturely and professionally. Ability to meet attendance requirements. Ability to read, write, and communicate the English language. Ability to lift light objects weighing less than 24 pounds. Work is performed in a lodge/shelter facility where there are little or no physical discomforts associated with changes in weather or discomforts associated with noise, dust, dirt, and the like
