      Job summary

      Are you an excellent communicator with a friendly, compassionate approach? Can you interact sensitively and professionally with patients both in person and over the phone? Do you have strong IT skills and experience using EMIS? Are you flexible and adaptable with your working hours?

      We are currently seeking an enthusiastic, outgoing, and efficient team player to join us as a permanent Medical Receptionist, working full time (37.5 hours across 5 days).

      This role involves working across both of our practices as a vital first point of contact for our patients. Youll be responsible for booking appointments, handling enquiries, and providing general clerical support as part of a supportive and collaborative team.

      Main duties of the job

      • Greet patients and visitors in a friendly and professional manner, both in person and on the telephone.

      • Book, amend, and cancel appointments using the clinical system (e.g. EMIS).

      • Handle patient enquiries and provide appropriate information or support.

      • Answer and triage telephone calls, directing them to the appropriate team member.

      • Scan, file, and upload documents to patient records promptly and accurately.

      • Ensure confidentiality and compliance with data protection regulations at all times.

      • Work collaboratively with reception and clinical teams to support day-to-day operations.

      • Open and close the reception area/practice according to established protocols.
