      We are looking to recruit a receptionist to join our busy, expanding practice. We pride ourselves in delivering excellent patient care and the suitable applicants will have the ability to liaise with patients in a busy reception department.

      Main duties of the job

      The successful candidates will possess excellent communication skills. You will be expected to work on your own initiative and also work well within a team environment. The duties of a GP receptionist will include; booking appointments, handling a large volume of incoming calls/online requests, processing patient queries and general day to day office duties. If you would enjoy this type of role and can work well under pressure please apply. We require committed, flexible people to work 21hrs a week between the hours 8-6.30pm Monday, Wednesday and Friday.

      We are a large, growing practice with approx. 11,500 patients. We have 1 GP partners, 4 salaried GP's, 1 long-term locum GP, 3 ANPs, 3 practice nurses and a large administration team.       Job responsibilities

      Receive, assist and direct patients in accessing the appropriate service or healthcare professional in a courteous, efficient and effective way.

      Provide general assistance to the practice team and project a positive and friendly image to patients and other visitors, either in person or via the telephone.

      Job responsibilities:

      Administration

      • To have a thorough knowledge of all practice procedures
      • To work in accordance of written protocols

      Reception

      • Receiving patients, consulting with members of practice team
      • Handing completed repeat prescriptions to patient and checking names and address.
      • Collect data as necessary e.g. up to date contact numbers / smoking status etc.

      Appointments

      • Process appointment requests for today/future appointments from patients by telephone and in person.
      • Deal with visits/requests

      Computer

      • Process patients changes of address computer data and medical records
      • Process repeat prescription requests in accordance with practice guidelines

      Other Tasks

      • Clear rooms after surgeries
      • Ensure building security to follow protocol

      Any other tasks allocated by managers
