Job summary
We are looking to employ a highly motivated, confident and organised individual to join our busy reception team in the accident and emergency department. The post will involve booking patients and paramedics in as they arrive, and also dealing with telephone and face to face enquiries. The successful candidate will provide an efficient and comprehensive administration support for the emergency department.
The reception is manned 24 hours a day, 7 days a week with the following shift pattens available:-
08.30am-5pm
08.30am-12.30pm
12.30pm-5pm
5pm - 10pm
5pm-midnight
10pm - 08:30am
You will have a 2 week rolling rota (week 1, week 2) enabling you to plan in advance your personal time.
Main duties of the job
Greeting patients, relatives friends and other healthcare professionals attending the emergency department in a polite, friendly and professional manner.
The post holder will ensure that patients details are accurately recorded and relevant documentation is created to support safe patient care.
You will have excellent communication skills, be dedicated and courteous. You will also have excellent verbal and written communication skills. You must be able to deal with sensitive and confidential issues in line with GDPR.
