- Greet persons entering establishment, determine nature and purpose of visit, and direct or escort them to specific destinations.
- Operate telephone to answer, screen, or forward calls, providing information, taking messages, or scheduling appointments.
- Verifies necessary information to accurately process patient visits including name, date of birth, phone number, address, insurance information, and/or other identifying information.
- Receive payment and record receipts for services.
- Schedule appointments and maintain and update appointment calendars.
- Transmit information or documents to customers, using computer, mail, or fax machine.
- Hear and resolve complaints from customers or the public.
- File and maintain records.
- Provide information about establishment, such as location of departments or offices, employees within the organization, or services provided.
- Perform administrative support tasks, such as proofreading, transcribing handwritten information, or operating calculators or computers to process and record payments, invoices, balance sheets, or other documents, and inventory management.
- Collect, sort, distribute, or prepare mail, messages, or courier deliveries.
- Maintain lobby or reception area in a neat and orderly condition.
- Comply with all PHI and PCI standards and other company policies and procedures for privacy and payment security.
- Performs other job-related duties as assigned by management.

Mountain View Hospital is looking for a Receptionist to join our team!
JOB SUMMARY: Answer inquiries and provide information to the general public, customers, visitors, and other interested parties. Greet and check-in patients upon arrival and perform check-out upon departure while ensuring patient information is collected, entered in the computer system accurately, and that all patients are aware of policies and procedures. Distributes appropriate information to all ancillary departments.

Qualifications
Education/Certification: High School Diploma or equivalent or higher.
Experience : One to three month’s related experience and/or training; equivalent combination of education and experience.
Equipment/Technology: Ability to use hospital information system, and operate basic computer functions and software.
Language/Communication: Be able to read, write, and communicate in English. Bilingual is a plus. Active listening to understand what other people are saying and respond appropriately.
Mathematical Skills: General math skills
Mental Capabilities: Can regularly and consistently make sound judgments. Able to use logic and reasoning to identify appropriate solutions.
Interpersonal: Good communication skills. Sensitive to the needs and feelings of others. Able and comfortable to collaborate with others to accomplish tasks.
Performance: Must be able to resolve conflict with both patients and staff.
