      Job summary

      We are looking for a Receptionist to join our friendly team for 26.5 hours per week (25 hours one week, 28 hours the next week).

      Previous experience in a similar role would be an advantage but not essential as full training will be given.

      Main duties of the job

      • The main purpose of the post is to ensure that all first point of call contacts with the Practice, whether by telephone, online or in person, be handled efficiently, effectively and courteously.

      Serving 9,000 patients in urban/suburban area. Spacious premises with ample staff parking.

      Our large and friendly team currently includes 2 GP partners, 2 salaried GPs, 3 Advanced Clinical Practitioners, a highly skilled nursing team, Practice Manager, Assistant Practice Manager and a large team of administrative and reception staff.

      We are part of an active PCN and GP Federation, South Lincoln Healthcare: www.lpcna.nhs.uk/primary-care-networks/south-lincoln-health-care. This includes: the HomeHealth dedicated care home team led by ANPs and access to a whole range of other specific roles to include clinical pharmacists; a Therapy team including OTs; Social Prescriber; Health and Wellbeing coach; Admission and Discharge Care Coordinator and Musculoskeletal Practitioner Service.

      CQC Good in all areas, high QOF achievement, SystmOne clinical system, AskMyGP online triage system.

      Job responsibilities

      Job Responsibilities:-

      1. Opening premises when required, as per the Opening Up Procedure.
      1. Closing premises when required, as per the Closing Down Procedure.
      1. Receiving patients on arrival, answering general enquiries, explaining Practice procedures, making new and follow-up appointments, dealing with other visitors and deliveries, ensuring safe handling of medical equipment and consumables.
      1. Operate the electronic and paper repeat prescription system, within the specified timeframe of a maximum of 72 hours.
      1. Take and pass on accurate messages to include time, date, name and contact details of caller, reason for call and name of message taker.
      1. Perform additional daily tasks to include but not limited to: filing; reception work tray; tidying of waiting room and removal of old magazines; tidying the entrance/front of the building and actioning tasks received via the clinical system.
      1. Perform additional monthly tasks to include but not limited to: cleaning waiting room toys and computer keyboards; ensure waiting room notice boards are tidy and up to date; review lost property box; check prescription and letters boxes for uncollected items.
      1. Ensure Consulting Rooms and Reception are kept tidy and adequately stocked with stationery and routine documentation, ready for the following working day.
      1. Ensure that outgoing post has been prepared and sent on a daily basis.
      1. Making tea and coffee for the Doctors
      1. To perform any other duties as required, commensurate with the post, for which the post holder has the necessary experience and/or training.

      • Previous IT experience, in particular Microsoft Office.
      • Previous experience within a front facing role.

      Desirable

      • Previously worked in the NHS.
      • Experience in the use of SystmOne Clinical System.
