      Your opportunity:

      Under the direction of the Assistant Dean, Registrarial and Student Services the incumbent is responsible for coordinating student programs and initiating outreach activities that will raise the profile of the Factor-Inwentash Faculty of Social Work.

      Your responsibilities will include:

      • Advising student groups on the development of clubs and societies
      • Planning and implementing components of curricular and/or co-curricular programs and activities
      • Promoting experiential learning opportunities
      • Building and strengthening relationships with stakeholders and partners of strategic importance
      • Building partner networkswith external agencies whose cooperation is important to the University
      • Developing strategies that maximize outreach to students
      • Delivering student recruitment presentations
      • Advising potential applicants, students, parents, and/orguidance counselors on admissions criteria and processes by probing and providing a range of options and possible consequences


      Essential Qualifications:

      • Bachelor's degree or acceptable combination of equivalent education and experience. Master degree preferred.
      • Minimum four years of related experience in student programming and outreach, preferably in a university setting.
      • Demonstrated experience in planning, organizing and managing outreach initiatives.
      • Experience with program development and implementation.
      • Experience working with students and alumni.
      • Experience with and/or demonstrated working knowledge of admissions and recruiting, preferably in an academic environment.
      • A team player with strong organizational skills
      • Strong interpersonal and relationship-building skills. Experience working effectively, professionally and personably with an international and diverse pool of students, applicants, faculty and staff with a demonstrated ability to provide excellent student centric programming.
      • Demonstrated strong verbal and written communications.
      • Computer proficiency with intermediate knowledge of and experience with MS Office suite, including SharePoint, digital design tools (ie Adobe Pro, Canva, Photoshop, Illustrator), social media and CRM. Experience using Teams and/or Zoom.
      • Strong time management skills and demonstrated ability to multi-task and prioritize competing demands while working under pressure and meet deadlines.
      • Demonstrated tact and diplomacy.
      • Excellent attention to detail.


      Assets (Nonessential):

      • Knowledge of social work education and practice.
      • Knowledge and understanding of the AODA act.

      USW Pay Band 12 -- $71,842 with an annual step progression to a maximum of $91,875. Pay scale and job class assignment is subject to determination pursuant to the Job Evaluation/Pay Equity Maintenance Protocol.
