      About the Opportunity


      Reporting to the Director, Recruitment Services and as a part of the Recruitment – People Services team, the Recruitment Consultant will represent Nova Scotia Health as we look to broaden our student engagement, attraction, and retention initiatives. This position will be responsible for working with internal and external stakeholders to ensure a positive recruitment experience for students considering and pursuing their career at Nova Scotia Health. Their focus will be on Nursing and Applied Health careers.

      • Connects with stakeholders to align student recruitment efforts with portfolio and program needs.
      • Design, update, and implement new and existing recruitment initiatives.
      • Works collaboratively with the Recruitment team as well as our Interprofessional Practice and Learning team on early engagement efforts with upcoming graduating classes.
      • Go above and beyond to connect with students to discuss career options, education and training requirements and upcoming opportunities with Nova Scotia Health.
      • Have ability to quickly learn and communication the expansive opportunities within the healthcare industry, including programs, training and education required for a career in healthcare.
      • Attend all student job fairs, weekly virtual information sessions, community career fairs and more to promote NSH to students.
      • Works directly with schools to provide promotional material, answer questions from students and faculty on a regular basis.
      • Support any other recruitment related projects that arise.

      About You


      We would love to hear from you if you have the following:

      • Minimum of 5-7 years of recent human resources generalist and/or recruitment experience.
      • Previous experience with student engagement, attraction, and retention strategies.
      • Knowledge and application of data and analytics tools.
      • Experience working in a healthcare or unionized environment would be considered an asset or the ability to showcase you are a fast learner.
      • Must have demonstrated competencies in strategic and systems thinking, networking, leadership, customer service, and be able to handle and navigate ambiguous situations.
      • Very comfortable with public speaking and engaging an audience of student.
      • Proficiency in MS Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) and human resource information systems.
      • Effective research and analytical thinking skills
      • Effective conflict resolution and rapport-building skills
      • Demonstrated self-starter, decision maker and problem solver.
      • Possess a customer-centric mindset.
      • Ability to collaborate effectively with internal business stakeholders, outside partners and the People Services teams.
      • Travel will be heavily required.

      Hours

      • Permanent, Full-time position; 75 hours biweekly
      • Based on events and needs shifts may include days, nights, and weekends.


      Location:

      • Will be determined based on the Successful Candidate, could be based anywhere in NS.
      • This position is eligible to participate in our work from home program.

      Compensation and Incentives


      $36.33 - $45.42 Hourly

      Successful candidates may be eligible for our benefits package which includes health, dental, travel, long-term disability, and life insurance coverage as well as a defined benefit pension plan.
