Job Description

- 2 years of experience in a clinical healthcare setting
- 2 years of experience in providing excellent customer service via the telephone
- Experience in physician scheduling
- Associate’s degree in Business, Public Health, or related field
- 4 years of experience in physician scheduling
- Experience in Epic Cadence
- Experience in Microsoft Word and Excel
- High school diploma or equivalent
- No professional certifications required
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills via the telephone and written word
- Demonstrated ability to utilize resources and networking to problem-solve
- Maintains ongoing tracking and appropriate documentation on referrals in an electronic medical records platform to meet patient access goals.
- Ensures complete and accurate registration, including patient demographic and insurance information.
- Collects information concerning patient clinical background and referral needs as per specialty guidelines.
- Reviews referral visit details and expectations with parents/guardians.
- Assists parents/guardians in problem-solving potential issues related to the appointment (e.g., requests interpreters, flags social workers, or coordinates transportation services).
- Ensures that referrals are addressed and appointed within the referral access goal.
- Establishes and maintains relationships with identified service providers.
