Job Description:
As a Refund Specialist, you will:
- Resolve credits based on knowledge of payer contracts and specific requirements
- Complete the Quarterly Medicare Credit Balance Report
- Evaluate patient accounts and provide answers or resolutions to credits
- Review EOB and patient payments to identify overpayments
- Process write-offs, charge adjustments, billing corrections, or voids
- Maintain patient confidentiality and adhere to HIPAA guidelines
- Identify patient overpayments and initiate refunds
Qualifications:
- High School Diploma required or some college preferred
- Minimum of 3 years' experience in a healthcare environment
- Ability to work independently and in a team
- High volume processing without compromising quality and accuracy
- Strong customer service skills
- Ability to contribute to staff development, productivity, satisfaction, and efficiency
Work Schedule:
- Hybrid (M-F)
- Full-Time days; Monday - Friday, 8:00 am - 4:30 pm
- Hybrid schedule after the 90-day probationary period
