      Temporary position for 18 months.

      The Regional Director is a senior leader within the Desjardins Agent Network (DAN) accountable for driving objectives, seeking opportunities, determining strategy, and achieving key results. With a solid understanding of a Desjardins Agent’s independent business, you will be at the forefront of aligning their needs with Desjardins services, products, and tools. The Regional Director is accountable for profitable growth and relationship management within a defined geographic region. We have three positions available in the following regions: Calgary South, Southwestern Ontario, and Eastern Ontario and New Brunswick. More specifically, you will be required to :

      • Consult with Desjardins Agents to help them develop and execute their business plans. Areas of business consulting include Business Management; Sales Process; Team Member Development; Customer Experience & Quality

      • Drive profitable, multi-line growth of an assigned region by applying comprehensive marketplace knowledge and subject matter expertise to differentiate the Desjardins Agent Network (an independent and exclusive network) through meeting multiple customer needs, providing consistently simple, people-focused experiences, and integrating organizational capabilities

      • Collaborate with new agent development resources to mentor and prepare those training for the agency opportunity throughout training and field development activities

      • Identify and recommend options to address Agents' business challenges, market opportunities, and office systems to positively influence new market acquisition and retention of existing markets

      • Capture market potential by recruiting top talent to maximize desired Agency footprint and evaluate territory opportunity to ensure alignment with strategic priorities

      • Develop the communication and change management strategy for the region to support the company’s vision and priorities through a combination of virtual meetings, in person meetings, study groups, and written communications

      • Be a Brand Ambassador for Desjardins sharing our vision, cultural expectations, and lead by modeling the Desjardins Behaviours

      What you bring to the table

      • Bachelor's degree in a related field

      • A minimum of ten years of relevant experience

      • Please note that other combinations of qualifications and relevant experience may be considered

      • Experience in the insurance or financial services industry, familiarity in managing independent businesses

      • Holds the following: Life License Qualification Program (LLQP) and Other Than Life (OTL) license or Completion required in the first 6 months in the role

      • Expert proficiency of English due to the nature of the duties or work tools or because the position involves interactions with English-speaking partners, members and/or clients

      • Strong knowledge of P&C and Life Insurance products and an understanding of market conditions

      • Must have a valid driver's licence and access to a vehicle as travel within a defined area is required for this role
