- Leads the efforts to expand the credit union commercial lending presence, as well as the assigned market penetration of the credit union.
- Supports and provides guidance to the Commercial Lending team in business development, acquisition and management of business relationships (loans, deposits and ancillary products) through ongoing coaching and feedback.
- Assists in establishing annual department goals; monitors progress of goals and addresses obstacles with Chief Commercial Officer (CCO). Develops and evaluates metrics to measure employee performance and efficiencies.
- Reviews loan requests for appropriate credit worthiness and profitability margins and recommends for credit approval. Ensures loans are risk rated appropriately and that key risks are well mitigated. Identifies potential risks quickly and creates action plans to reduce risk to the organization and assist the member.
- Monitors economic and industry trends, both for future growth opportunities and for identification of risks.
- Collaborates with branches and other department business partners to develop and maintain confidence needed to get maximum referrals.
- Manages departmental budget, developing opportunities for income growth, and maintaining expense control.
- Ensures department operates in compliance with all security, audit, regulatory compliance, information security, customer privacy and Bank Secrecy Act/CIP Policies and Procedures.
- Oversees relationship Relationship Managers to include providing coaching and mentorship, education/training, conducting performance evaluations and periodic reviews and development of team members.
- Recommends and develops compensation structures, including performance incentive plans, to maximize team members’ performance while maintaining enhanced levels of service and member engagement.
- Participates in community events representing the credit union, enhancing our visibility, networking, and giving back to the community we serve.
- All other duties as assigned.
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Finance, or related field of study.
- A minimum of seven (7) years’ experience in a commercial finance services environment with past roles showing a progression of increasing responsibility with a minimum of three (3) years in a management/lead role, with responsibility for team budget, strategy, and objectives.
- Ability to conduct an analysis of an applicant's credit status and recommend alternatives when appropriate.
- Ability to organize work in order to give prompt attention to member's request, while at the same time meeting deadlines for work processing.
- Ability to provide leadership and function effectively as a leader of a team or on individual tasks and assignments.
- Demonstrated ability to communicate with members in a business-like manner, which will enhance the Credit Union's overall image.
- Demonstrated skills in member-related account transactions. Ability to interpret and explain credit union polices and transactions posted to member's accounts.
- Must have sound verbal and written communication skills and have a cooperative positive approach toward members and employees.
- Strong, well-developed interpersonal, communication and interviewing skills to determine existing and/or potential members' needs.
- Superior level of knowledge of features and benefits of all credit union services and products.
- Leads team with integrity and creates an environment where staff members feel included, valued, supported, and energized to perform at an optimal level.

Position Primary Purpose :
Northwest Community Credit Union, a division of TwinStar Credit Union, is looking for a full-time Regional Director of Commercial Lending to join their team! This position is responsible for leading and further developing a Commercial Lending sales team in acquiring and managing commercial lending relationships while striving to ensure optimal member experience. Manages growth in line with credit union goals, strategic initiatives and policies, and will further the credit union’s reputation and relevance within the community. Ensures all commercial service functions are in alignment with federal and state compliance and follow all credit union policies and procedures.Essential Functions and Tasks

This position is eligible for Full-Time Regular benefits. Employees and their eligible family members have access to a wide array of employee benefits, such as medical, dental, vision and life insurance coverage. Medical, Dental, and Vision insurance is paid at a 100% by company for the employee coverage. We also offer Health Care FSA (HCFSA) and Day Care FSA (DCFSA). Employees have access to disability and AD&D insurance. Employees are able to enroll in our 401k plan. Full-Time Regular employees accrue 8 hours of vacation and 8 hours of sick leave, on a monthly basis. Full-Time Regular hired employees also receive 11 paid holidays throughout the calendar year, 1 floating holiday, 16 hours of self-care time, and 16 hours of volunteer time.All benefits except 401k start the first of the month after 30 days of employment. Employees become eligible to contribute to 401k on the first of the month following 60 days of employment.
