      JOB SUMMARY The Regional Educator provides support service to internal/external customers under direct supervision of the PCS Manager, with latitude for independent decision making. This position provides educational and development services to professional staff in order to maintain and develop competency.

      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS/DUTIES

      • Communicates through the education process the delineation of duties as defined through the Nursing and Paramedic Scope of Practice.
      • Coordinates and provides Monthly instruction for the Clinical Internship training program.
      • Provides mentorship to new employees and Base Clinical Lead personnel during the Clinical Internship.
      • Establishes and maintains relationships with the Regional Managers of Patient Care Services, Regional Directors of Base Operations and other field Management.
      • Assists the staff Development Specialist with the implementation of advanced training and enhanced critical thinking assessment through the utilization of the Emergency Care Simulator on an as needed basis.
      • Acts as a clinical resource to all medical crewmembers.
      • Provides mentorship to new employees during the orientation process.
      • Maintains a knowledge base of current standards of care and standards of practice and ensures compliance to those standards.
      • Participates in and ensures ongoing continuous clinical quality improvement/quality assurance activities.
      • Works cohesively with organizational stakeholders to develop and facilitate implementation of remedial training as recommended by the Medical Director.
      • Provides Grand Rounds and Competency training to all assigned medical crew members.
      • Provides training sessions for new employees as part of the Clinical Internship.
      • Remains current on Emergency Care Simulator programming and training.
      • Maintains Emergency Care Simulator in proper working condition per manufacturer’s recommendations.
      • Maintains transport vehicle in proper working condition per Company Policy
      • Must be willing to travel 25-50% of the time.
      • Performs other duties as assigned

      QUALIFICATIONS

      Experience

      • Two years flight experience preferred. One year flight experience required.
      • Minimum of five years current ED or ICU nursing experience or ALS Paramedic experience.
      • Knowledgeable in pre-hospital EMS/air medical transport.
      • Previous teaching experience preferred.

      Education

      • BS or BA preferred

      Credentials/Licenses:

      • Current RN Licensure or EMT-P Certification (must obtain RN Licensure or EMT-P Certification for each state within the areas assigned).
      • Specialty certification in clinical area in one (CCRN, CFRN, CEN, FP-C) or obtain one (CCRN, CFRN, CEN, FP-C) within one year of hire.
      • Current Instructor ratings in AHA/NAEMT certifications preferred.
      • Must obtain Instructor rating in all disciplines within 1 year of hire.
