- Be the senior point of contact for all India regional engineering activities, owning the implementation of the product strategy, designing organization structure, allocating resources, and managing budget in line with engineering governance.
- Lead a team of high-performing engineers to provide engineering services to the Sales, Service, Product, Operations and Supply Chain teams in India with respect to new OE orders, machine rebuilds and participation in product issue resolution.
- Be the owner of regional engineering processes in India, ensuring adherence to global processes whilst driving local continuous improvement.
- Lead major project initiatives identified at the regional leadership level, which may include objectives outside the typical comfort zone of traditional engineering management.
- Allocate engineering resources to perform administration of customer orders (products delivered to customers in India and products made in India) from Sales Order reviews to in-service engineering support of components, products, and/or services as defined by a global plan for each product.
- In conjunction with the local product and service teams, allocate engineering resources to participate in field/market research, co-ordinate the placement of models, features, or components, ensuring flawless entry into India and provide engineering to support products throughout their life cycle.
- Own and manage the release of a new sales order for all in-country machine rebuilds. Allocate engineering resources to support the local service and operations teams with these rebuilds including scope of work, upgrades, order management and technical documentation.
- Be responsible for the India regional engineering budget and resources, identifying gaps in skills, owning team development, and designing the organizational structure to meet the needs of the business today and in the future.
- Manage and complete regional EWRs, escalating, as needed, any that require input from the global product groups.
- Represent the India region on the global Engineering Leadership team, implementing globally agreed engineering policies and procedures in the India regional engineering team.
- Be the face of Engineering in customer meetings, including making technical presentations as required.
- Liaise with the chief engineers and their teams to address regional product issues and communicate region specific product requirements.
- Provide region specific input and requirements to the technical publications team for all parts and technical manuals for OE and rebuild machines in the region.
- Participate in engineering projects as required.
- Bachelor of Degree in Engineering with business fundamentals, required.
- Advanced degree(s) in engineering, science, and/or business, highly preferred
- 5 years’ experience managing people and/or projects in industry, required.
- 3 years’ experience in mining or machine design, desired.
- Participation in implementing Lean Engineering principles, highly desired.
- Leadership of effective Change Management implementation, desired.
- Effective understanding of product marketing principles, highly desired.
- Experience in a cross-functional assignment(s), desired.
- Certifications or demonstrated project management, required.
- Professional registration and/or membership in committees and/or technical societies, beneficial.
