Job Description

- Develops, implements and manages regional procurement strategies, ensuring overall alignment with corporate objectives.
- Creates, implements and manages all regional grain procurement and marketing programs in conjunction with sales staff, operations staff and grain merchandising to achieve optimum financial results.
- Understands and manages the financial aspect of grain marketing programs.
- Monitors business operating results against established budget objectives and priorities.
- Accountable for the provision of real time information regarding on-farm inventory, competitive pricing/programs, products to senior management and our merchandising team.
- Responsible for the settlement of customer concerns and disputes within the region, internal and external to the company.
- Leads, coaches and manages the team to ensure excellence, awareness and commitment to the client, team and department’s goals and objectives.
- Analyzes customer activity and develops strategies to retain and grow the customer base.
- Ability to assess risk and exercise sound judgment in making decisions.
- Ability to coach, motivate and develop people in their role and through their career path.
- Understand the difference between management and leadership of a team, and the ability to demonstrate both.
- Familiarity with grain industry regulations and policies.
- Computer competent in related applications including word processing, spreadsheet and database software, as well as Customer Relationship Management tools.
- Understanding of global grain markets.
- Minimum eight (8) years of demonstrated successful experience in the areas of grain procurement. Three (3) years of this experience must have been in a mentorship or management capacity.
- Post-secondary diploma or degree in Agriculture or Commerce.
- Must possess a valid class 5 driver's license.
