Alaris Health at Hamilton Par, a 260 bed-skilled nursing Center in Jersey City, New Jersey, seeks a registered dietitian to be responsible for assessing the nutritional care of all residents in the Center and advising the administration and food service director as needed in all clinical aspects of the food service department. Additional responsibilities include:

• assessing the nutritional status of residents, inclusive of lab value interpretation, consumption patterns, weight maintenance, food/drug interactions, dietary compliance, resident independence and overall nutritional well-being
• performing routine assessments for new admissions and as needed for care conferences and residents with specific challenges
• reviewing resident care plans, menu changes and documentation of change reasons
• working with the interdisciplinary team addressing appropriate nutritional concerns and interventions with all members of the nutrition support team
• and most importantly, ensuring that residents and their families receive the highest quality of service in a caring and compassionate atmosphere that recognizes each individual’s needs and rights

JOB REQUIREMENTS:

• Registered dietitian with previous experience in a long-term care health setting or previous experience as a consulting dietitian
• Knowledge of daily caloric and nutritional requirements for the residents served and the medical conditions involved
• Experience with geriatric population is preferred, as is menu plan writing with therapeutic extensions, patient assessment skills and in-servicing
• Possess required knowledge to perform sanitation assessments
• Extensive food service supervisor training as well as food staff training experience is required
