      Schedule: Temporary Exempt, min 32 hours per week | 8 a – 4:30 p w/ flexibility of day off.

      What You will Do in This Role:

      The Registered Dietitian promotes health, independence, and quality of life for older adult participants at LifeCircles through community-based nutrition education and personalized support. Key responsibilities include assessing individual nutrition needs, developing and delivering age-appropriate education, and supporting access to nutritious, affordable food. The role also addresses chronic disease management, food insecurity, and functional limitations. Collaboration with caregivers, community organizations, and interdisciplinary teams is essential to ensure a holistic and culturally sensitive approach to healthy aging.

      Primary Responsibilities:

      • Conducts initial and periodic nutrition assessments and develops individualized care plans for LifeCircles participants in accordance with organizational policies.
      • Monitors meal service, including participant intake, diet compliance, and tray accuracy.
      • Maintains documentation standards as outlined by organizational policies and regulatory requirements.
      • Manages therapeutic diets, including modifying the general menu to align with physician orders and individual participant needs.
      • Determines the need for snacks, home-delivered meals, and nutritional supplements; assists with menu planning, production and delivery lists, and dietary census.
      • Supports food safety and kitchen sanitation by monitoring health department inspection reports and assisting with internal inspections as needed.
      • Provides nutritional education and consultation to participants, families, and staff regarding special dietary regimens and requirements, as prescribed or recommended by the Academy of Nutrition and Dietetics.
      • Develops and facilitates group counseling sessions and educational activities focused on nutrition and healthy eating.
      • Participates in community outreach projects by providing nutritional education and resources to staff, participants, and the broader community.
      • Serves as a resource to staff on dietary considerations related to diabetes, wound care, and other chronic health conditions.
      • Refers participants to community agencies and resources in alignment with their care goals.

      What You will Need:

      • Bachelor’s degree in food and nutrition or Dietetics from a Commission on Dietetic Registration-accredited institution required.
      • Master’s degree and relevant work experience preferred.
      • Board Certification in Gerontological Nutrition, Renal Nutrition, Enteral/Parenteral Nutrition, or Diabetes Education preferred.
      • Minimum of one year of experience working with the frail elderly or in a long-term care setting.
