      Registered Nurse - ICU
      Boulder Community Health, Boulder, CO 80303

      $44.08 - $62.12 an hour - Full-Time Nights, 36 hours per week
      *Range includes night differential. +$2.50/hr for weekend shifts.

      Boulder Community Health is seeking an experienced Registered Nurse for the Intensive Care Unit (ICU) to deliver high-quality, evidence-based care to critically ill patients. This role involves assessing patient conditions, implementing targeted nursing interventions, and evaluating outcomes. The ICU RN is also responsible for maintaining clinical competency, demonstrating professional accountability, and actively contributing to quality improvement and patient safety initiatives.

      Qualifications
      •Colorado RN license in good standing
      •BLS required by end of conditional period.
      •ACLS certification required before conditional period ends. Suspension will occur if certification lapses.
      •NIHSS certification required within 6 months of hire.
      •Minimum of one year of prior ICU experience required

      Responsibilities
      •Provides comprehensive, age-appropriate nursing care to critically ill or injured patients aged 13 through adulthood, while demonstrating cultural sensitivity and developmental awareness. In emergency situations, initiates care for critically injured pediatric patients in collaboration with physicians, pediatricians, and pediatric nursing staff until safe transfer occurs.
      •Demonstrates proficiency in interpreting cardiac rhythms, applying ACLS protocols, managing hemodynamic monitoring, and utilizing evidence-based critical care nursing practices in a high-acuity ICU environment.
      •Performs thorough, ongoing patient assessments, identifies trends, and applies clinical reasoning to anticipate and respond to changes in patient condition. Collaborates with interdisciplinary team members to implement individualized care plans.
      •Utilizes appropriate educational tools and resources to assess patient and caregiver learning needs, then develops and delivers tailored education plans to support understanding, recovery, and self-care.
      •May conduct bedside point-of-care diagnostic testing and may serve as a trainer or preceptor for others in the unit on point-of-care procedures.
      •May be responsible for performing moderately complex laboratory testing in accordance with unit protocols and regulatory guidelines.
      •Actively participates in hospital quality and patient safety initiatives. Embraces changes in standards of care based on current research and best practices in critical care nursing.
      •Serves as a compassionate liaison and advocate for patients and families, ensuring communication is timely, respectful, and aligned with the patient’s goals of care.
      •Maintains accurate, timely, and comprehensive documentation in the electronic health record (EHR), ensuring real-time charting in compliance with hospital standards and regulatory requirements.
